I checked out the lake at CM Crockett Park yesterday, beautiful day: 60's in the morning and partly cloudy. There are many nice access areas from the bank and boat rentals. I tried from the bank. I used many top lures and some Texas- rigged worms and lizard. Not my day for bass so I started to fish with cut bait. I managed to land a decent channel cat before the turtles found me. This big snapper, 10 lbs. or so , swallowed some cut bait and I had to cut the line . The little turtle took the bait I was using for bluegill. Next time will be in a boat , I think it'll improve odds for bass a lot

Nice Cat J. I definitely think you'll have better luck with the Bass, from a boat. At least you'll be able to get away from the turtles. Thanks for the pictures.

Nice kitty, Jross. Yeah, definitely go out on a boat. Head north towards the mouth of Licking Run. I've typically had good luck catching bass in the early A.M. along the west shoreline near the creek mouth along the grass line and skipping senkos under the overhangs. All dinks, though.🎣🎣🎣
