Is there a way to have calendar appointment alarms sound when phone is on silent?

I know this works with a normal alarm, but I'd like to be able to just have calendar reminders actually sound, even though I have my phone on silent at work in general, for obvious reasons - ideas?

I don't know what OS you are on, but on 10.3.1 you can set up a custom profile with everything turned off except Calendar notifications.

This. i have a profile with everything silent except the phone.
